Stichting Constantijnse Orde van Sint-Joris
The emphasis of the Constantinian Order today is on the promotion of the spiritual life of its members and the practice of charity. For this, the Order finds inspiration in the seven works of mercy that go back to the words of Matthew 25:35-36:
1. Feeding the hungry
2. Quench the thirsty
3. Clothing the naked
4. Sheltering the foreigners
5. Caring for the sick
6. Visiting the prisoners
7. Burying the dead
The Netherlands delegation does not have legal personality as such. In addition to the delegation, a support foundation is therefore active: the Stichting Constantijnse Orde van Sint-Joris. The foundation was established for the organizational and financial settlement of all activities of the Order in The Netherlands.
According to the statutes, the Foundation's goal is: 'to combat social needs, promote social welfare, provide spiritual and material assistance, as well as strengthen the Catholic experience of faith'. This is in accordance with the classic mission of the Order, namely 'the glorification of the Cross, the spread of the faith and the defense of the Holy Roman Church'.
The Dutch delegation focuses strongly on children and young people. This can involve situations of need or vulnerability, but also education, social and economic participation. These can be projects in which Order members are committed, but also projects that are organized entirely by third parties
The Foundation only supports projects and activities in The Netherlands.
Projects and activities in which children, young people and young adults play an active role are preferred. Because a better world starts with yourself.
