A very old chivalric order
The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George is one of the oldest surviving orders of chivalry.
Legend has it that the Order was instituted in the year 312 by the Roman Emperor Constantine, but its documented history goes back to the 15th century Byzantine Empire.
In the 18th century, the Constantinian Order became linked to the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies. However, the Order is not a purely dynastic order, but an autonomous order with a hereditary grandmastership.
The current grandmaster is HRH Prince Carlo di Borbone delle Due Sicilie.
The Constantinian Order initially had a religious-military character, which is reflected in the official name as established by Pope Clement XI in 1718.

Today, the Constantinian Order is focused on the wellbeing of those in need and on the growth of the spiritual life of its members. The Order is still closely associated with the Roman Catholic Church.
The Constantinian Order is open to both men and women and is active worldwide, with delegations in Europe, Asia, North and South America.
